ELLEN MOSLEY-THOMPSON BEST PUBLICATION AWARD

The Ellen Mosley-Thompson Best Publication Award is competitively awarded each year to a recent publication (within the last two years) that made an important contribution to the field of paleoenvironmental change.

The award is named after Dr. Ellen Mosley Thompson, Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Geography (Atmospheric Science Program) and a Senior Research Scientist in the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center (BPCRC) at The Ohio State University. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society and is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Her efforts, along with members of the Ice core Paleoclimate Group at BPCRC, have done much to highlight the necessity of developing essential long-term perspectives for assessing and better understanding contemporary climatic and environmental changes. This award recognizes her important contributions to the paleoenvironmental and paleoclimate community during her long, distinguished career

Nominations
Persons wishing to nominate a recent (this year or last) publication for the Ellen Mosley-Thompson Best Publication Award should send (1) a letter that describes the importance of the publication to paleoenvironmental change, and (2) a copy or link to the publication.

A single letter of nomination is sufficient for the publication award, and self-nominations are accepted. A recent publication is one that appeared in print or was published online in the previous two years to when the award is issued. Eligible nominations can be resubmitted if the submitter wishes to have the publication considered in this round.
